Early Morning Drag Racing Crash Takes Out Telephone Pole in SE GR
For the past few weeks I've seen A LOT of complaints in my neighborhood Facebook group about drag racing. Folks say drivers are being unsafe, the cars are really loud, and of course, they're driving too fast.
Have you heard about drag racing in your neighborhood?
Police say an early morning crash on Grand Rapids' southeast side was caused by drag racing.
WZZM-13 reports that the crash that happened around 2:30a.m. at the intersection of Kalamazoo Avenue SE and Burton Street SE took down a telephone pole.
It's unclear if anyone was injured.
At the time, the Consumer's Energy Outage map showed outages in the area, though it has not been revealed if that was connected to the crash.
Residents who live near nearby commented on Facebook that traffic lights were out on Kalamazoo Ave. south of Burton and on Hazen Street east of Kalamazoo Ave.
This is a developing story.
