East Lansing Ranked 9th Best College Basketball City
The Michigan State Spartans have been a college basketball dynasty pretty much ever since Tom Izzo became head coach in 1995. Spartan fans have been pretty lucky when it comes to the basketball program.
Since Izzo became coach, MSU has 8 Conference Regular Season Championships, 5 Conference Tournament Championships, 22 NCAA Tournament Appearances, 7 trips to The Final Four, and 1 NCAA Tournament Championship. Only a few other programs in the nation have a legacy that can compare.
Because of this, East Lansing, MI has been named the 9th best city for college basketball. Wallethub put together a list of the 30 best college basketball cities and two Michigan cities made the list. In addition to East Lansing, Ann Arbor, MI ranked at 14th on the list.
The top 5 are:
- Chapel Hill, NC (UNC)
- Lawrence, KS (Kansas)
- Los Angeles, CA (UCLA)
- Durham, NC (Duke)
- Lexington, KY (Kentucky)
