President Adams will also present Fabolous with the key to Brooklyn at the event.

“I feel honored to be inducted into Brooklyn’s own Celebrity Path and receive a key to the city in June," Fabolous says. "Along with the accolades and citation I was presented with last week from Borough President Eric L. Adams, I am grateful to be recognized by my hometown for my contributions and to receive the borough’s highest honors says, Fabolous.”

Original Story:

Like it or not, Fabolous is one of New York's living legends, and the city has treated him as such. On March 9, the Summertime Shootout 2 rapper was awarded the key to Brooklyn during a special ceremony held at the Grand Courtroom in Brooklyn's Borough Hall.

Fab received the special award before an audience that included Ryan Leslie, Wale and DJ Clue. The night before he was awarded the key, the The Young OG Project rapper received the Icon Ward from Icon Talks founders John Hartsfield and Sharon Carpenter. At that ceremony, Fab's friend and collaborator gave him a touching tribute speech, while noting the Brooklyn stalwart's multi-faceted skill set.

“Congratulations to my brother Fab for being the secret weapon,” Swizzy said.“I call him the secret weapon. He’s the secret weapon for fashion, the secret weapon for music, the secret weapon for creativity, he’s the secret weapon behind a lot of artists doing what they do today.”

On Sunday night (March 12), another BK legend received a touching tribute at the Barclays Center. On that evening, which was dubbed "Biggie Night," The Notorious B.I.G. was honored with a special ceremony that saw a special Biggie jersey get to the rafters. The NBA's Brooklyn Nets, who hosted the event, won for just the fifth time in 2017 on Biggie Night.
