Finally! Check Out the Kickass New Trailer for Marvel’s ‘The Defenders’ [WATCH]

The first official trailer for The Defenders has arrived, much to the delight of fans of the Marvel superhero series.

The Defenders brings Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist together as they fight to protect New York City from the Hand and Sigourney Weaver. The trailer is so dope, it almost makes up for the pseudo-tragedy that was the Iron Fist series—although Iron Fist and his California frosted tips do have a cheesy moment when he very seriously announces to Luke, "I'm the immortal Iron Fist" to which Luke agitatedly responds, "You what?" effectively echoing the sentiments of everyone watching.

At any rate, the trailer is fast-moving with plenty of fighting clips—Jessica Jones scowls, Matt Murdock broods then kicks people, Iron Fist stares at his gloriously glowing hand, and Luke Cage righteously struts his bullet proof chest while waxing poetic about protecting the community. As always, Rosario Dawson's nurse Claire is a highlight (though you have to wonder how that whole Matt-Luke-Jessica-Claire love square thing will play out), and Elektra makes a kickass return, along with Misty Knight.

The series will premiere on Netflix on August 18. Watch the trailer above.
