Marijuana and music go hand in hand since the two became popular in modern society. Musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and Bob Marley shared their favorable views on smoking Marijuana long before legalization came to Michigan or the rest of the United States.

Rock concerts and Marijuana consumption have always gone together equally as the musicians love of it. It's hard to go to any sort of concert without seeing a cloud and smelling the familiar scent of weed wafting through the crowd. Even with marijuana being legal in Michigan, it's still not legal to consume it in public spaces (although that doesn't stop some rebels.)

The "Spark in the Park" music festival is set to take place on June 18 &19th at Green Acres Park in Hazel Park. Musical artists include Julian Marley & The Uprising, Ghostface Killah & Raekwon from the Wu Tang Clan, and more.

The festival is still "proposed" as of now, and is set to be voted on this week by the Hazel Park City council, but it looks like they are likely to approve the event without contest. This will be the first festival of it's kind in Hazel Park.

Spark in the Park isn't the only music festival of it's kind. In fact, the 420 Music Festival in Lansing is coming up later this month, and the cannabis company JARS hosted one last year as well.

No, none of these are against actual Michigan laws...They just feel like they are part of some "Michigander Honor Code" and should still not be violated.
