GR Distillery’s New Downtown Tasting Room Opens Next Week (Finally!)
We have a new option for cocktails downtown Grand Rapids!
Wise Men Distillery first leased the space for a new downtown tasting room at 146 Monroe Center in McKay Tower over a year ago... and it's finally opening next week!
Wise Men shared the opening date of June 2, 2021 to Facebook, saying:
Its been a long time coming! With the challenges of establishing a new location during COVID finally behind us, we can now start serving the fine patrons of Downtown Grand Rapids with our amazing craft spirts and cocktails.
They'd originally hoped to open the new tasting room in early 2020... but well, we all know what happened then...

We are really excited about the opportunity to expand and offer a tasting room in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. The downtown location will help us continue to build the Wise Men Distillery brand and bring our distinct, locally distilled spirits to a much broader audience.
Wise Men opened their original location at 4717 Broadmoor Ave SE in Kentwood in May of 2019.
Wise Men makes a variety of spirits like rum, vodka, gin, white whiskey, spiced rum, and Apple Pie Moonshine with Michigan-sourced ingredients. This past fall they released a new line of canned hard seltzers.
The distillery won "best in class" for their Wise Men Vodka at the 2020 Craft Distillers competition. In 2019, Wise Men was was named "Michigan Rum Distillery of the Year" by the New York International Spirits Competition.
