GR Property Tax Statements Sent In Water Bill Envelopes

If you live in the city, you may have been puzzled when you received a 'Water Department' envelope in the mail.

Like many city residents, I received an envelope in the mail from the City of Grand Rapids marked 'Water Department'. Thinking it was my latest water bill, which is due soon, I opened it, only to find a property tax statement. It was strange, but I figured they just put it in the wrong envelope. I was right.

The City of Grand Rapids issued a statement yesterday saying the mistake was the result of a printing company error.
