Grab a Margarita at This New Restaurant Before the NKOTB Concert
New Kids On The Block will be in Grand Rapids tomorrow! FINALLY!
Before you dance the night away to 'Step By Step" and sing your heart to "You Got It (The Right Stuff)," you may need a drink (or four) to loosen up your vocal cords. Well, you're in luck. The grand opening of the new Barrio Tacos is happening the same day at 3 PM.
Barrio has been voted as one of the top 10 taco stands in the United States. With a plethora of food and drink options, you are bound to find one you love.
Here are my drink recommendations before a night you will not forget!
1. Sweet Gingerita
We love a good ginger drink! The Sweet Gingerita has Corazon Blanco tequila, Stirrings Ginger Liqueur, house sour mix, lychee puree garnished with a ginger sugar rim and an orange.
2. Freaky Tiki
This name screams Hawaii vacation! The "Freaky Tiki" adds jalapeño -infused El Jimador Blanco tequila, triple sec, passionfruit, pineapple, and house sour mix together with a chili-lime salt rim and a jalapeño.
3. Burnin' Thyme
I have never had a drink that has thyme as the accent so this definitely piqued my interest. The "Burnin' Thyme" has Espolon Reposado tequila, Del Maguey Vida, agave nectar, mango, and fresh thyme.
4. The Sassy Pineapple
Pineapple and tequila are besties! "The Sassy Pineapple" has pineapple-infused Avion Silver tequila, house-made morita syrup, and fresh citrus juices.
5. Proud Pineapple
I am proud to say that this drink is in the top 5. See what I did there? 😉 The Proud Pineapple has reposado tequila, pineapple juice, triple sec, Morita simple syrup, soda water garnished with a sugar rim, and rainbow candy. This is definitely what a grown-up Tinker Bell would drink. Also, a portion of this drink and their "Oh Honey, Honey cocktail" proceeds will be donated to The Trevor Project.
Honorable mention: Loaded Mimosa
The loaded mimosa is exactly what the name entails: an upgraded mimosa. Mimosas are typically classic champagne with a dash of orange juice. However, for Barrio's brunch, they take it up a notch. With the loaded mimosa, you have a choice of 12 different flavors! Yes, twelve! The best part of the loaded mimosa is the Milagro Blanco Tequila. Milagro is 100% blue agave tequila. According to their company's website, it smells like "lemongrass, citrus, and black pepper" and the taste is " bright fresh agave, citrus, and pear."
