I just met a friend for lunch and cocktails at Houlihan's yesterday! If anyone saw the closure coming, it wasn't apparent...

Houlihan's Grand Rapids posted to Facebook today (Sunday, December 29th) that they had shut their doors for good due to "the wind down of the bankruptcy estate".

Houlihan's management says they are doing everything possible to move employees to continuing locations and reaching out to other local restaurants.

According to International Business Times, Houlihan’s Restaurants Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November. At the time, the company had said it had entered into an asset purchase agreement with rival Landry’s, who operates Joe’s Crab Shack, Rainforest Cafe, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

According to Houlihan's website, there are no longer any locations in Michigan. The closest is Schererville, Indiana.

The Grand Rapids Houlihan's opened in Breton Village at 968 Breton Rd SE in June of 2012.
