Grand Rapids will be joining cities and towns across the country on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 to support National Night Out. The initiative is sponsored by the Grand Rapids Police Department as well as neighborhood associations around the city.

The goal of the initiative is to generate support for anti-crime efforts, heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, and encourage cooperation between community and law enforcement.

During the evening, residents are asked to lock their doors, turn out their outdoor lights and hang out on their porches or lawns or in their neighborhood parks. There will also be special events hosted throughout the city.
