Grand Rapids Will Be Upgrading Ottawa Hills Park With West Michigan’s First Fitness Court
The city of Grand Rapids continues to improve local parks and encourage those in the city to get outdoors. They've now announced the city will be installing a new way to exercise in one of our local parks.
Ottawa Hills Park will be the home to West Michigan's first-ever Fitness Court.
The Fitness Court will allow citizens to use the court with a mobile app that allows them to design their own workout. You'll be able to simply scan the new digital wall with your phone to access a library of free workouts designed to optimize your fitness experience.
In the press release the city says that this will be a 'new way' to get active outdoors:
A new way to get active outdoors is coming to Southeast Grand Rapids! Thanks in part to a $50,000 grant from the National Fitness Campaign and Priority Health, Ottawa Hills Park (2060 Oakfield Ave SE) will be home to a new Fitness Court®.

The Fitness Court is an open-air wellness center that lets visitors use their own body weight to get a complete workout. Created with adults of all ages in mind, the Fitness Court is adaptable for all fitness levels. The installation is expected to begin in Summer 2022.
