It's almost Christmas in Grand Rapids!

The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony has been scheduled for Friday, December 6th at Rosa Parks Circle. The festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. While a list of what to expect that evening hasn't been released yet the city promises

...plenty of dynamic attractions to officially kick off the holiday season...

Normally the event includes carolers, food, holiday crafts, a message from the mayor and of course getting downtown lit (figuratively & literally). Last year, 150K lights were strung throughout downtown... the most it's ever been, reports MLive.

The two-hour ceremony is free to attend and will also end with ice skating open to the public.

Check back for more details coming soon on the GR city website.
