Grand Rapids Police Department are being investigated for 23 complaints of discrimination.

Residents have raised major concerns regarding the GRPD. Over 80 residents have spoken with the MDCR and stressed their concerns.

FOX-17 points out that, according to Michigan law, discrimination in employment, education, housing, public accommodation, public service and law enforcement are prohibited. Discrimination cannot be based on race, religion, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, genetic information, marital status, familial status, height, weight and arrest record.

When this goes to be reviewed, the GRPD and the person making the claim will all be present and produce evidence in all 23 cases that are being looked at.

You would think that in this day and age, all this discrimination would be behind us in a modern society, but it seems to still rear its ugly head time and time again.
