Fun times and memories to be created November 29 when Rosa Parks Circle opens for ice skating in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.

According to WOOD, as long as mother nature doesn't throw us a winter curve ball, the ice skating rink will open.

If you haven't experienced skating outdoors in the park, it is a Grand Rapids classic. Even if you don't skate, its beautiful downtown at night watching others enjoy the rink especially when all the Christmas lights are on. Every no and then you can catch a pick up hockey game in the circle as well.

Skating at Rosa Parks Circle ice rink kicks off at 3 p.m. November 29 and will be open weather permitting until February 23.

City crews will start making some ice for the skaters on November 25.

You can beat the admission price of entrance plus skate rental for kids 17 and under at $1 and the price for adults only $3.

Saturday's all season long, kids skate free and get hot chocolate from 10 a.m. to noon.

If you don't think the ice rink is popular, the city said over 40,000 people skated there last year.
