What Makes a Truly Legendary Prime Rib?

Because it takes so much slow-roasting time and care, a lot of spots don't even bother putting it on the menu. Food publication Mashed recently put together a list of the best prime rib in every state, pointing out what sets the true masters apart:

They know to slow-roast it for hours so the meat comes out tender and packed with flavor. They know to serve it with a rich au jus or a tangy horseradish sauce so every bite is balanced. And they know to carve it into thick slices so each meal feels as indulgent as it should be.

It turns out the state's best spot is sitting right in our backyard! Mashed named Crazy Horse Steakhouse & Saloon in Holland as the best spot in the state for prime rib.

Hand-rubbed with a signature house spice blend and slow-roasted all day, Crazy Horse's prime rib is known for its rich marbling, juicy flavor, and fork-tender texture. Reviewers have called it the best prime rib they've ever had! Oftentimes the restaurant serves it as special smothered with cheese and veggies or with seafood accompaniments.

Decades of Great Food and Community Tradition in Holland

If you haven't been, Crazy Horse has been open in Holland Township on North Park Drive since 1997. Outside of their famous prime rib, they serve up a full menu of hand-cut Black Angus steaks, fall-off-the-bone BBQ ribs, sweet marinated chicken, gourmet burgers, sandwiches, seafood, and fun appetizers like Texas Toothpicks.

Plus the restaurant has a decades-long tradition where customers pin dollar bills to the wood-paneled walls. Over the years, it turned into a full-blown charitable movement, with the restaurant raising over $550,000 for local families and charities!

As for the prime rib itself, Mashed didn't hold back on the praise:
