Grand Rapids has announced the 10th year of free exercise classes in parks and public spaces across the city.

No matter which exercises or intensity levels you prefer, there is likely a class for you! More than 15 dance, cardio, and yoga classes will start the week of May 11 and run for 15 weeks.

Classes are Monday through Friday and you don't have to register in advance — and again, they're totally free!

If a class has to be cancelled due to weather, the announcement will be made on the Parks and Recreation Facebook page, or you can call the department’s cancellation hotline at (616) 456-3699.

Schedule of Grand Rapids Free Outdoor Fitness Classes Summer 2025

Instructors will lead a variety of classes at varying fitness levels, including Zumba, Glute Aerobics, Yoga, Line Dancing, Barre, and POUND (drumming workout). The earliest class starts at 6:30a.m. and the latest class starts at 7:00p.m.

Mondays, May 12 through August 18 (no class May 26)

  • Yoga at Mulick Park (1632 Sylvan Ave. SE) from 6-6:45 p.m.
  • SoulfulMOTION at Garfield Park (2111 Madison Ave. SE) from 6:30-7:15 p.m.
  • Zumba at Rosa Parks Circle (135 Monroe Center St. NW) from 6:30-7:15 p.m.
  • Line Dancing at Richmond Pool Park Deck (963 Richmond St. NW) from 7 to 7:45p.m.

Tuesdays, May 13 through August 19

  • Barre on the Blue Bridge from 5:30-6:15p.m.
  • Glute Aerobics (555 Monroe Ave. NW) from 6:30-7:15p.m.
  • Sunset Yoga at Lookout Park (801 Fairview Ave. NE) from 7-7:45 p.m.

Wednesdays, May 14 through August 20

  • Yoga at Riverside Park from noon to 12:45p.m.
  • Pumped Up Strength at Cherry Park (725 Cherry St. SE) 6:00pm.-6:45p.m.
  • Core Blast at Roosevelt Park (739 Van Raalte Dr. SW) from 6:30 to 7:15p.m.
  • WERQ at Highland Park (700 College Ave. NE) From 7 to 7:45p.m.

Thursdays, May 15 through August 21

  • Sunrise Yoga at Indian Trails Golf Course (2776 Kalamazoo Ave. SE) 6:30 to 7:15a.m.
  • POUND on The Blue Bridge from 5:30-6:20 p.m.

Fridays, May 16 through August 22 (no class July 4)
