Don’t Take Prom or Senior Pics at Abandoned Places You May Get Busted
Lots of high school students like to get a unique senior or prom picture and often choose abandoned places but there is a risk you may get busted.
Senior and Prom Pictures
Thanks to social media senior and prom pictures are becoming more unique as students get creative with where they get their pictures taken.

When I got my senior pictures done it was the old-fashioned way and went to the photo studio the high school sent us to. As far as prom pictures, those were taken by parents and of course at the prom.
I have played in several bands over the last 30 years and doing promo photos has taken me places I was allowed and not allowed to enter. I remember getting promo photos done in an old Studebaker factory in Indiana but this one we had permission from the building owner to do. I can't say that about all the rest but I do understand wanting to get a unique photo and how that can be important.

Don't Take Prom or Senior Pics at Abandoned Places You May Get Busted
Let's face it, there is no shortage of abandoned houses, buildings, factories, and other properties all over Michigan.
Just because these buildings and houses are abandoned doesn't mean you are allowed to use them for photo shoots. These locations are still private property so you can get busted if you get caught.
The "Abandoned, Old and Interesting Places in Michigan" Facebook page tipped me off that the DNR busted a woman who snuck into the long-closed Belle Isle Zoo to take some prom pictures.
According to an article in the Facebook thread from MLive, the woman who took the pictures owned up to the crime. The Department of Natural Resources then cited her with trespassing. The woman is looking at a $250 fine and/or up to 30 days in the slammer. The woman did mention that she got the instructions on how to get into the zoo from an online post.
Most people posting on the thread were more concerned about what the pictures looked like but Jared Schwartz made me laugh when he said, "Man if only the DNR focuses on catching you know, poachers..."
