Longtime Wyoming Sports Bar Closing, Property Being Integrated into Housing Development
After more than 20 years in business, a local restaurant and bar is closing as Wyoming's "city center" project progresses.
Restauranteurs Frank and Wanda Vitale have operated Frankie V's Sicilian Pizza and Grill in Wyoming for more than 20 years. The pair announced this week they are ready to semi-retire.
The Vitales have sold Frankie V's at 1420 28th St. to private real estate developer, Magnus Capital Partners. They plan to downsize to a catering kitchen with possible takeout in the area.

Frank says, "Although it is bittersweet, we feel strongly that this is the right time. We’ve had an amazing 23 years running Frankie V’s with our children and grandchildren growing up here. We have also been a part of so many of the families that grew up with us... It was truly an honor for us to host so many families and their special occasions.”
Part of the Wyoming City Center development project, Frankie V's will be integrated into a third phase of HōM Flats at 28 West.
The restaurant serves pizza, burgers, pasta, and more. If you'd like to stop in for a final meal, according to Crain's Grand Rapids, Frankie V's will close at the end of August.
Magnus and the City of Wyoming have been working together for over six years on a public-private development partnership to create the Wyoming City Center.

The private side consists of a mixed-use development, including housing (HōM Flats at 28 West). The public side includes an ADA-compliant pedestrian bridge, 4.6 miles of new trails, and a public plaza.
Wyoming City Manager John Shay says, "We look forward to continuing our journey of reimagining Wyoming. The public investments we are making alongside our partnership with Magnus elevate our excitement for the possibilities ahead. We share a commitment to creating a space everyone can access, engage with and be proud of.”
Magnus is expected to submit the project plans for the next phase of development to the City of Wyoming in the next few months.
