Michigan Family Sues After Funeral Home Screws Up Cremation
A Detroit area funeral home is now being sued after allegedly cremating a woman weeks before the actual cremation date.
According to WILX, Rhonda Hollis past away unexpectedly on November 23 and the visitation was supposed to be on December 16, and funeral the next day. Hollis was to be cremated after the funeral.
On December 4th Hollis was cremated by the funeral home who allegedly notified the family about it on the 12th a week before the visitation. The family were furious the cremation happened early and were unable to say their last goodbyes as planned.
The funeral home did apologize to the family for the mistake but that has not stopped the Hollis family from hiring an attorney to taking them to court for breach of contract, negligence, and emotional distress.
