Need a New Gig? City of Grand Rapids Just Posted a Bunch of New Job Openings
Thinking about switching things up this summer? If it is time for a new gig, the City of Grand Rapids just posted a fresh round of job openings, and the range is wide.
Nearly 20 positions are open across multiple departments, with pay starting around $15 an hour and reaching all the way up to $160,000 a year.
Great Community and Library Roles
If you love books, community spaces, or working with the public, the Grand Rapids Public Library has a couple of great part-time opportunities. They are currently looking for a Library Page ($15.10–$16.13/hr) to help keep collections organized, and a Library Assistant II ($25.89–$28.00/hr) to help residents access resources.

The city is also hiring a part-time Library Custodian ($19.70–$21.30/hr) and a certified or certifiable Police Officer ($77,467–$95,971/yr) to help protect and serve Grand Rapids.
Outdoor and Hands-On Careers
If you prefer an active, hands-on workday, there are multiple options toon.
Grand Rapids is offering a Utility Field Operator I ($56,566–$67,863/yr) role where you can learn to maintain water and sewer systems under direct supervision. If you have some inspection experience, they also have an opening for a Mechanical Inspector I ($70,488–$83,278/yr) to make sure local HVAC and mechanical equipment is safe and up to code.

If you'd rather work in local parks, there is a Recreation Program Technical Supervisor ($60,422–$77,027/yr) position open to help lead and organize community athletic and youth programs.
