UPDATE 3/20: Grand Rapids Police are continuing to investigate a fatal hit and run crash that occurred on March 17 at approximately 2:10a.m. on 28th St. and Eastern Ave. SE.

The female victim has been identified as 55-year-old Donna Nguyen.

The vehicle that struck Ms. Nguyen fled fled the scene going west on 28th Street.

According to GRPD, the suspect vehicle is confirmed to be a Ford, which investigators strongly believe to be a blue 2019 Ford Fusion.

The car will have significant damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle, including a damaged headlight, bumper, hood, and fender.

Police have shared a stock photo of a 2019 Ford Fusion. At this time, they do not have any photos/video stills of the involved vehicle.

ORIGINAL STORY 3/17: Days after a hit and run claimed the life of a 53-year-old man in Grand Rapids, police are investigating another fatal incident.

According to the Grand Rapids Police Department, at approximately 2:10a.m. on March 17, a 55-year-old Wyoming woman was struck and killed by a westbound vehicle at 28th St. and Eastern Ave. SE.

The car fled. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the victim as pronounced dead at the scene.

According to witnesses, the vehicle that hit the woman and drove off is a dark-colored, mid-sized SUV. It's believed to be a Ford that will likely have significant front-end damage.

The incident remains under investigation and the victim's identity is being withheld until family can be notified.

The fatal hit and run that occurred at approximately 3:15a.m. on March 10 remains under investigation as well. It was caught on camera. A 53-year-old man, later identified as Robert Delgato, was struck and killed in the area of Division Ave. S. and Andre St. SW.

It's been confirmed the suspect vehicle is Honda, and police strongly believe it to be a dark-colored 2006-2008 Honda Pilot. The car is expected to have significant damage to the driver's side headlight and hood, and possibly a cracked windshield.

The car fled the scene going on Division then turned east on Burton. Video suggests the vehicle may have turned north onto Francis Ave. SE.
