For some reason, a rumor persists that sharks have been spotted in the Great Lakes, a fact that is just not possible. Most saltwater creatures aren't able to make the switch from freshwater to saltwater, and vice versa. This goes the same for sharks.

At least, until now.

A shark was spotted in Grand Rapids over the weekend. Ok, not a real shark, but a financial shark: Mark Cuban, former "shark" on the television show Shark Tank.

Everyone Wants A Piece of Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids and Michigan as a whole have proven to be quite the hot commodity this election cycle. Both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump were in the Great Lakes State over the weekend, with Harris visiting Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Detroit, while Trump made his 13th visit to Michigan in less than three weeks. However, only one candidate brought a shark.

Mark Cuban, billionaire investor and former majority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, made quite the splash when he arrived in GR. He was by Terry Rostic, a Grand Rapids native and owner of Black Calder Brewing Co., Michigan's first Black-owned brewery. Cuban visited GR to discuss Harris-Walz's campaign to invest in small businesses.
