The Eagles delivered a beatdown to the 49ers winning the NFC Championship game 31-7 but that beating could have been a lot worse. The 49ers were already on their third quarterback for the season when Brock Purdy hurt his elbow on his throwing arm in the first half which forced the team to bring in Josh Johnson. In the second half, Johnson got hurt and Purdy had to come back in.

Trying to run against the Eagles being your only option, it is tough trying to come back from a 2 touchdown deficit. The Eagles on the other hand chose to run knowing the 49ers were down in order to keep their quarterback Jalen Hurts and other players safe and healthy for the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs didn't have an easy game against the Bengals as the Eagles did over the 49ers. The Chiefs led the entire game but only won by a field goal 23-20. 3 points are all the Chiefs needed to get to the Super Bowl for the third time in 4 years.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes came into the AFC Championship game after a high ankle sprain but that didn't seem to slow him down. Plus the Chief's defense was all over Cincy QB Joe Burrow with 4.5 sacks in the first half alone.  Harrison Butker nailed a 45-yard winning field goal to send the Chiefs back to the big game.

Super Bowl 57 will be in Arizona at State Farm Stadium on Sunday, February 12, 2023, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. This will be the 9th year in a row that a former University of Michigan football player will be in the Super Bowl. This year there are 4 players who formerly played in Ann Arbor at the Big House.

There are 4 former U of M players that will play in Super Bowl 57. For the Philadelphia Eagles 1 former Wolverine will make his second appearance in a Super Bowl. For the Kansas City Chiefs 3 former Wolverines will make their second appearance in a Super Bowl.

Defensive end Frank Clark will make his 2nd appearance in a Super Bowl. Clark plays on nearly 90% of the Chief's defensive snaps and is in the top three in NFL history for career postseason sacks with 13.5. If Clark gets 3 sacks in the Super Bowl he will own that record.

Michael Danna

Michael Danna is a defensive end who has played on the defensive side of the ball for the Chiefs over 50% of the time. If it wasn't for injuries, that time would have been significantly higher. Danna has 27 tackles and 5 sacks for the season and is someone Philadephia Eagles Jalen Hurts should be concerned about.

Brandon Graham

Defensive end Brandon Graham was a beast for the Michigan Wolverines. There was no surprise at all when I learned he was picked to head to the NFL. Actually, I was hoping the Lions would have got him but it was the Eagles that had their thinking caps on. Graham is second on the team in sacks and played in all 17 games for the Eagles. For a man coming off the bench, he is a force to be reckoned with so Kansas City Chiefs quarterback better be listening for footsteps when Graham is on the field.

Chad Henne

Chad Henne is the backup quarterback to the Chief's Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City fans don't want him on the field because that would mean Mahomes is injured. A few weeks ago when Mahomes suffered the high ankle sprain Henne stepped in and marched down the field to put the Chiefs over the Jaguars for the 27-20 win. Even though Henne doesn't have a lot of snaps with Chiefs his experience with the Wolverines has him ready if he gets the call during Super Bowl 57.
