As a bookworm, I love the "Little Free Library" trend! Have you seen them in your neighborhood?

There are multiple in my Grand Rapids' neighborhood of Alger Heights.

Often adorably decorated, free little libraries encourage literacy and community by allowing folks to take a book for free or leave a book for someone else to enjoy. There's even a Little Free Library world map to find one near you.

Have you ever seen one in an airport though?

It's a great idea, really! What if you forget to pack a book for your trip? Just check out the free little library at the airport. Turns out, at least two Michigan airports have Little Free Library - or "Flybraries".

I've flown out of Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids many times, but I had no idea they have a Flybrary! Apparently in 2016, GRR partnered with Kent District Library on the project.

The Little Free Libraries are located in Concourses A and B. Each book has a “Little Free Library” sticker. Guests are welcome to take a book to keep, or return it to the airport or their closest Kent District Library. Volunteers oversee the airport shelves to make sure they're stocked.

Now another Michigan airport has added one!

Traverse City's Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) is partnering with Traverse City Area District Library on the "The Little Free Flybrary".

Fliers are able to take a book for their trip and drop it back off when they get back.

The Flybrary has and adult, teen, and child section. Folks are also encouraged to leave a book as a donation for the community.

Do you know of any other Michigan airports with flybraries? Hopefully the trend catches on and more will add them!
