Michigan Distillery’s Whiskey, Tasting Room Voted Among Top Ten in Nation

A Michigan distillery is getting national attention for not only some of the best craft whiskey in the U.S. - but also for one of the best places to enjoy a glass!

Traverse City Whiskey Co. has been voted among the top ten in two national polls.

It is a MUST visit if you're in town. Firstly, the whiskey is made with local ingredients and the creative cocktails they whip up are amazing.

The distillery has a line of signature whiskeys, plus four barrel proof whiskeys, including a bourbon, rye, wheat and cherry. They also have unique offerings like Lakeside Peach Whiskey, and American Cherry Edition, which is made with Montmorency cherries grown on the owner's family farm.

Back September I visited Traverse City and stopped in to TC Whiskey with my husband!

I had a yummy peach whiskey slush and he had a whiskey sour made with egg whites.

We got to enjoy them in the sunshine on their amazing elevated patio!

Indoors and outdoors, the atmosphere is awesome.

The distillery's story is cool too - one of the founders discovered his great-grandfather’s old patents for distilling whiskey on his family’s cherry farm.

This ignited a spark among three friends to build something close to their hearts – a small batch whiskey company that bottled not only the best whiskey around, but also the friendly, adventurous spirit of “Up North” Michigan.

As you can tell, I'm a fan! So I'm always jazzed to see Traverse City Whiskey Co. getting national attention.

TC Whiskey has been voted the No. 6 Best Craft Whiskey Distillery in the Country is a USA Today 10Best readers' poll.

A panel of experts nominated 20 of the standout craft whiskey distilleries in the country, and then it was put up to a public vote.

The distillery has also been voted the No. 2  Best Spirits Tasting Room in the U.S.

Traverse City Whiskey Co. invites you to sample their handcrafted spirits and drinks at The Stillhouse, their laid-back speakeasy-style bar. Visitors can sample their beloved American Cherry bourbon whiskey that's made from local cherries, as well as their Lakeside Peach and Michigan Apple whiskeys that are both made with fruit from local orchards. Visitors can also sample spirits at their cocktail bar called The Outpost, which is located in Ferndale.
