79-Year-Old Former School Worker Arrested For Inappropriate Communication With A Child

A 79-year-old retired middle school employee from Michigan, Sue Ann Asch, is facing charges after allegedly sending sexually explicit text messages and Snapchats to a minor.

Asch, who worked at Kalkaska Middle School until her retirement in September, was arrested following an investigation by the Michigan State Police in Houghton Lake.

The investigation began after authorities received a report in September about the inappropriate communications. The minor, who was acquainted with Asch, was interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center in Traverse City.

Following the interview, search warrants were executed at Asch's residence, and several electronic devices were seized and sent to the State Police Computer Crimes Unit for analysis.

Details of the messages have not been disclosed by the authorities.

However, Asch was arraigned on a charge of accosting children for immoral purposes, a felony that broadly covers indecent acts with minors. If convicted, she could face up to four years in prison.

Asch turned herself in after a felony warrant was issued on January 8.

Kalkaska Public Schools Superintendent Rick Heitmeyer confirmed that Asch had been employed by the school district from 2012 until her retirement and stated that the school district had not been contacted about the investigation.

What Happens Next To Sue Ann Asch

Michigan State Police told Fox News Digital Thursday that their investigation into Asch has concluded, and the matter is now in the hands of the court system.

Asch is expected to appear in court on Feb. 12th.
