The $1 Million Ticket He Almost Skipped: How a Michigan Lottery Player Beat the Odds

A Michigan man recently hit it big after buying a Michigan Lottery instant win ticket.

The best part about this awesome moment is that it almost didn't even happen.

While the 62-year-old Oakland County man has chosen to remain anonymous, he did share with Michigan Lottery officials on what led to him picking the big winner.

“I check the instant games prizes remaining page on MichiganLottery.com often to decide what scratch off tickets to buy based on what top prizes are left. I typically wouldn’t have bought the Lady Luck 777 ticket since there was only one top prize left, but when I was in the store deciding which tickets to purchase, I noticed 007 was the next ticket number on the roll for four different games. I took that as a lucky sign and bought all four.

“I scratched the tickets when I got in my car and was shocked when I saw I’d won $1 million on the Lady Luck 777 game. I went back into the store, held the ticket up to the clerk, and said: ‘You sold me a big winner!’ It was amazing.”

This lucky Oakland County man isn't the only person to win big playing the Michigan Lottery.

A man visiting Michigan from Maryland recently won $1,000,000 playing a Lucky Numbers instant win ticket.

A Bay County woman who had been playing Lotto 47 for 20 years with the same numbers hit it big and won $1.1 million.

And an Oakland County woman playing Fantasy 5 online accidentally selected a wrong number that resulted in her winning $250,000.
