2 Michigan Airports Ranked As The Best In North America For Customer Experience
Not one, but two Michigan airports have made national news this week.
The two airports were recognized as being among the best in North America.

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) earned some major honors for the flying industry this week.
(DTW) earned the 2022 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for “Best Airport of 25 to 40 million passengers in North America.” this recognition is one of the highest honors in the aviation industry.
This Is Not The First Time DTW Has Recived The Award
With this year's awards that give (DTW) 3, They recived the award in 2018 and 2020.
Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton had this to say about the award
“Our entire team at Detroit Metropolitan Airport is responsible for DTW receiving this honor, our third ASQ Award since 2018. We’ve listened to customer feedback and developed action plans for improvement. Everyone played a role, including our Airport Authority staff, airlines, janitorial staff, Customs & Border Protection, TSA, concessionaires, and more. It’s encouraging to know our customers have noticed our efforts. We are grateful and remain dedicated to exceeding expectations at DTW.”
How Many Flights Come And Go Each Day At DTW?
The short answer is a lot, (DTW) is one of the world’s leading air transportation hubs with more than 1,100 flights per day to and from four continents.
Ford International Airport Also Received Some Huge Honors
DTW isn't the only airport in Michigan to get some national recognition.
The Gerald R. Ford International Airport earned multiple awards in the following categories:
- Best Airport of 2 to 5 Million Passengers in North-America
- Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in North-America
- Easiest Airport Journey in North-America
- Cleanest Airport in North-America
