Why Does Michigan Love The Coney Dog So Much?
I don't remember the first time I bit into a Detroit coney dog, but I know that ever since then, I've been in love with them. My personal favorite is getting two Detroit coney dogs with a side of chili cheese fries covered in ketchup, washing it all down with a big, tall glass of ice-cold Vernors.
While a lot of Americans enjoy hot dogs, I wondered what it is about the Detroit coney dog that makes us in Michigan love them so much.

I can't speak for everyone, but I think a big reason why I love coney dogs so much is that I used to always get them with my dad when we would see him on the weekends.
The coney dogs tasted great loaded with coney sauce, onions, yellow mustard, and nestled in a warm, soft bun. It was also something I looked forward to having when we spent time together.
While that's a great reason to love coney dogs, it's not the only reason why.

There are many reasons why the coney dog is loved by Michiganders, besides tasting great and being affordable I think it really comes to it just makes us feel good and provides a sense of comfort.
