When is Michigan's first winter storm expected?

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Winter Storm Warning for much of the upper peninsula from Sunday night through Monday:

What weather can the Upper Peninsula expect with Michigan's first Winter Storm?

According to the National Weather Service in Marquette the U.P. could see some very wintry weather to start the week:

Heavy, wet snow is expected to result in hazardous winter
driving conditions for the Monday morning commute. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are expected along the spine of the Keweenaw Peninsula. Northwest to north winds gusting as high as 50 mph at times.

How much snow will the Upper Peninsula see this week with Michigan's first Winter Storm?

Snowfall amounts totaling 6 to 12 inches are expected across the higher elevations of the U.P. through Monday night. Higher amounts exceeding 12 inches are possible across eastern Baraga and western Marquette Counties; a few isolated spots may see up to 18 inches.

Will the Lower Peninsula see snowfall from Michigan's First Winter Storm of 2022?

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, the same system that will be hitting the U.P. could also bring heavy snowfall to the Northern Lower Peninsula as well:

...signals point toward a return to snow or a mix Monday night, especially across the eastern UP and interior northern Lower Michigan…with additional uncertainty in how long snow will stay mixed in Tuesday. This will play a major role in snow accumulations through this timeframe.
