Are Those COVID-style Stimulus Checks On The Way Again
Remember the COVID stimulus checks we all got during the COVID pandemic? For many it was a God send and helped pay bills, buy food, and life.
Now the stories and rumors are that he Federal Government will be send out stimulus checks again, funded by the tariffs on goods imported into the United States.
Admit it, you are excited that you might see a check in the mail, or a deposit in your bank account, of between $600 to $2400.
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?
Sadly, it is! This is all false! There have been some proposals in congress to do something, but nothing has even passed a chamber, house or senate.
"There have been rumors and unsupported speculation spreading on social media and some websites about a new stimulus check in varying amounts of money. There has been no official confirmation from Congress or the Internal Revenue Service to support these claims, and any such news should be taken with caution as it could be misinformation or attempted fraud."
It was President Trump who floated the idea of a DOGE refund, or Tariff rebate, but since he casually mentioned it we haven't heard about it again.
👇 BELOW: WHAT STATES WERE IN MOST FINANCIAL DISTRESS LAST YEAR? 👇
Some states, including Michigan have been actively working on sending a form of stimulus money to families. We had the "Michigan tax credit check sent to over 700,000 families in 2024," Kiplinger.com reported. "State officials say the credit has already made a tangible impact, with over 653,000 recipients benefiting in the past year, averaging $836 each," Kiplinger.com says.
So, as always, it's a wait and see event. Maybe.....maybe not, that we will see some government financial relief.
