Like Nowhere Else – There’s a High School Track in Michigan that Surrounds a Forest
While nearly every high school has a track and field program. And you can probably picture what the track looks like. The track, as nearly all schools, surrounds the football field. But there is one high school in Michigan that features a track that doesn't surround a football field but rather is built around a forest.
The school in question is Caseville which is in the western Thumb region between Bay City and Port Austin.

Look into the photo and you'll notice a few things. First and foremost are the copse of trees right in the center of the track and a full forest at the back turn. Not only is there no room for football, there is no seating as well. Of course, even if bleachers existed, no fan could see the full scope of the track.

As a former track coach I both love and hate this. Awesome to have that shade on hot days, but where can I stand to get my splits on the sprint relays?
you can't actually do "& Field" events there
I love it. Adds suspense for the fans

So should you ever find yourself at a track meet in Michigan's Thumb, it may be an experience like no other.
