The NFL post season is underway with 14 teams who have emerged from the regular season and have hopes on the Super Bowl.

There are several teams in contention who have never won the big one. Top of mind awareness for all in Michigan are the homestate Detroit Lions.

Sure, the team's fandom would love to finally say after decades of futility that a Lombardi trophy is coming to Detroit. But are the Lions the most needing of a victory? The collective fandom of the internet says yes.

The question came up on a subreddit dedicated to the NFL asking, "Of the 14 playoff teams, which team "needs" to win the Super Bowl the most this year?" With the idea of needfulness being a bit undefined, here's how many fans came to feel the Lions are in this position.

Lions since they’re about to lose their coordinators

The way this Lions Team plays, to win with this group, it feels now or never. The brightest flames burn out quickest. So as far as NEEDS to win, I think the lions
Johnson, Glenn, and maybe even Fraley could all be gone which really sucks, but it’s the price of success.

The Lions need to catch this lighting in a bottle they got going. Would hate it for them to come-up short and the never reach the same levels of success.
