Is This New Fatal HMPV Virus From China Infecting People In Michigan?
Ever since 2020 and the rise of COVID-19, people have been more concerned about their health and well-being, especially when it comes to viruses that spread flu-like symptoms.
The CDC is constantly trying to stay on top of all the sicknesses that make their way into the United States, and one new virus that is wreaking havoc in China right now Could possibly make its way to Michigan. The new virus is called Human Metapneumovirus, or HMPV.
Times Now recently shared some graphics showing that this new virus is causing flu-like symptoms that replicate COVID-19, which is tough while already dealing with arise in health issues during the winter season.
Those who have HMPV will most likely experience, fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, and wheezing. It’s also been said to lead to pneumonia in severe cases. It’s important to remember that currently there is nothing that can be done about the virus, as there is no vaccine for it.
However, just like all sicknesses as long as you make sure that you are washing your hands and protecting yourself from the elements there shouldn’t be too much to worry about even if the virus does make its way to the United States.
For now, this new sickness is something that should be kept on top of, but there's no immediate threat, much like when COVID-19 went worldwide. Hitting the panic button won't help anyone, so just stay protected in crowded areas where sicknesses can spread easily, and this virus shouldn't be a major threat.
