We know that by living in Michigan, you basically have to accept that there are five seasons every year. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and construction season. There really is no escaping it as it seems like every year there is a major construction project happening somewhere in the state, sometimes in multiple locations.

In southwest Michigan alone Kalamazoo has gone through a pretty brutal construction season and many businesses and residents have been impacted by all of the closures and detours. The construction is only part of the issue because traffic in general in the state is becoming increasingly frustrating, especially during the holidays.

Every year people travel from all over the map to spend the holidays with their families which can lead to some pretty major backups.

We asked our audience, what the most avoided road was, and the result was pretty unanimous that I-94 may be the most avoided stretch of road in the state. With that being said, it is the link between Detroit and Chicago, so it’s pretty necessary if you plan on going from one side of the state to the next, unless you decide to take the northern stretch and cut through Flint and Lansing.

A case could even be made that Woodward Ave during baseball season is the one you wanna stay away from, as I-75 and 696 can also get really bad, but it may seem like I-94 has a slight advantage. What do you say is the most avoided stretch of road in the state?
