Waterfront dining is one of my favorite things to do. Having grown up on Lake Michigan, waterfront dining was something our family did all the time. It doesn't always have to be on a Great Lake, it just needs to be on the water.

There's something special about the breeze, the water and the vibe. Being on the water seems to make everyone relax a little bit and live in the moment. Does it make the food better? That depends. I think eating on the water offers a more enjoyable dining experience.

Traditionally, the restaurants on the water that I have eaten at usually offer a good variety of fish to eat. Eating a steak dinner while sitting on the water is awesome too. I have searched mid-Michigan for restaurants that offer options for waterfront dining, and they are hard to come by.

Michigan is bordered by Lake Erie, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, and Lake Superior. We have hundreds of rivers and inland lakes. Michigan has some really unique and amazing waterfront dining experiences. If you want to eat a nice dinner with a waterfall for a backdrop, want to watch the seagulls while you eat or want to pull the boat in to dine, you can do so. Don't let summer disappear before you head out to take in a great waterfront dining experience before fall arrives.
