Believe It or Not – These Are the Dirtiest Cities in Michigan

Every Michigan city has its unique blend of issues that contribute to its environmental and cleanliness challenges. However, only two cities, unfortunately, stand out on both local and national levels for being the dirtiest.

Lawn Starter took a deep dive into what makes the dirtiest cities in America. By using factors like pollution, living conditions, infrastructure, and resident dissatisfaction, they reached a disheartening conclusion.

Now, before we go any further, I must be clear in saying that this is not an opinion-based article. The information is based on a study conducted by Lawn Starter, not on the views of myself or this radio station. I feel the need to mention this because one of the cities we're discussing is right here in Genesee County. So, yeah, it hits a little too close to home.

The dirtiest cities in Michigan also ranked quite high on the list of the 'Dirtiest Cities in America.' Here are those cities:

Flint

According to Lawn Starter's study, the 12th-dirtiest city in the U.S. is Flint. It ranks among cities with the worst living conditions and highest resident dissatisfaction.

Detroit

Detroit was ranked as the 2nd dirtiest city in America, which also means it is the dirtiest city in Michigan.

Both cities certainly have their issues but I find it hard to believe they are among the dirtiest cities in America.

Keep in mind that only 500 larger cities were included in this study. So, there could, in fact, be smaller cities that are much dirtier but weren't looked at.
