We've mentioned many times in the past how dangerous it is to be a law enforcement officer. Cops are assaulted all the time across the country. But it's much more terrifying when there are guns involved.

In fact, a Michigan State Police Trooper was shot three times this morning.
Michigan State Trooper Shot Three Times During Early Morning Investigation
Officials with MDART, or the Metro Detroit Auto-Theft Recovery Team, were conducting an investigation early this morning. While the investigation was underway, a Detroit man jumped out of a vehicle and began to fire a gun at local law enforcement.
One of the troopers was shot by the 23-year-old three times. Once in the leg, one in the back, and another in the chest. However, investigators believe this shot was deflected by his protective bullet-proof vest.

According to Michigan State Police Lieutenant Rene Gonzalez, 'He took one in the leg in the back and the chest that that could have been the one that took him out but that vest saved him. So we’re we’re glad that they’re wearing their gear and that’s what kept them safe.'
What Was The Fate of The Suspect in this Officer Involved Shooting?
When you are a police officer and your partner or another officer is in a deadly situation you are trained to react. That's exactly what the other officers in the area did. They took out the suspect with deadly force.
The injured officer was rushed to a local hospital and is listed in serious condition. However, he is expected to recover from his injuries.
