Soon, Michigan Walmart shoppers will notice a little proverbial dust kicked up during their shopping trips.

The company announced its aggressive plan to build or remodel around 800 stores.

Most of their stores have looked like the above picture for nearly 15 years. Before that, they had the old logo on a dark blue background.

Several Michigan Walmart locations to be remodeled.

The company's goal is to improve layouts to make shopping easier while offering a wider selection of products.

According to Bloomberg, 150 locations will get an entirely new store. Some of those will be remodeled to become Supercenters -- their biggest layout offering a pharmacy, auto service, clothing and items for your home in addition to groceries.

While Michigan doesn't have many Walmart Neighborhood Market locations (just groceries) many of those around the country will become Supercenters.

The remaining 650, or so, stores will be renovated/updated.

All of this will start in 2024.

Michigan is home to 90 Walmart locations, 23 Sam's Clubs, two distribution centers and one fulfillment center.

Their website provides a lot of detailed information about their footprint in the state. Over 35,500 people are employed by Walmart in Michigan. They support another 40,000+ jobs by working with over 840 suppliers, too.
