With a toy microphone and one cool band, Jidenna took over NPR offices and gave a very upbeat Tiny Desk concert.

The "Classic Man" came into NPR and performed three songs from his album The Chief. The album is a tribute to his father, a Nigerian chief, and the record is layered with African themes and beats. Jidenna started off his performance with a cool rendition of "Trampoline." Before going into his next song, he thanked NPR and spoke very little, then glided right into, "Long Live the Chief."

"I said they fighting over rings, they wanna be the King, but long live the chief/
For a lil ol' thang lil boys bang bang/long live the chief/Now watch pretty mama while I slang my cane/long live the chief," Jidenna rapped while his band effortlessly followed and kept the tempo up.

Jidenna ended his performance with "Bambi," slowing his pace just a little and allowing the crowd to fully take in the African rhythms of the song.
