John Ball Zoo and Brewery Vivant Partner To Save The Environment
Summer is in full swing around West Michigan. And even though we're still going through a pandemic and need to keep our distance, people are out doing things, enjoying living around "Beer City USA." I used the last part because there's now a new brew out there that also has a positive impact on our environment.
John Ball Zoo announces on Facebook Thursday that they have teamed up with Brewery Vivant to create a new summer brew that also helps conservation efforts.
The new beer is called 'JBZ' (John Ball Zoo) they say its a dry-hopped lager with “aromas of swaying pine trees, pineapple, and refreshing citrus.” The post says they partnered with Brewery Vivant because both organizations care about the environment as are strong advocates to keep our environment healthy. They say that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the beer will benefit water conservation and sustainability efforts.
You’ll be able to get the 'JBZ' beer both at the zoo at the various refreshment stand around the park and at Brewery Vivant. They also plan to sell 16oz. cans to go, later this summer which you'll be able to pick up at both at John Ball Zoo retail areas and Brewery Vivant.
John Ball Zoo, on Grand Rapids' west side, is open for the season, seven days a week. Monday - Thursday 9 am to 6 pm, and Friday through Saturday until 7 pm.
Brewery Vivant is located on Grand Rapid's east town area, at 925 Cherry St SE, They're open 7 days a week, noon to 10 pm.
