Kalamazoo Mother Charged With Murder in Connection to 4-Year-Old Daughter’s Death

Daveeta Lee Walker has been charged with two counts of felony murder, first-degree child abuse, and torture in connection to the death of her four-year-old daughter Kharisma Richardson.

Kharisma was found unresponsive in her bedroom on the morning of her fourth birthday.

WOOD-TV8 reported back in April that Daveeta Walker admitted to police that she would "whoop" the little girl for having accidents roughly six times a week, and would also "whoop" her for "mouthing off" roughly twice a week.

An autopsy showed that the little girl suffered injuries from blunt force trauma on her body. Police told FOX-17 that she was beaten with a belt, punched in the face and chest, and had burns bad enough to blister her hands and feet. Her cause of death has not yet been released.
