The city of Kalamazoo is looking to help residents beat the heat during this crazy hot weather.

Wood TV 8 reports that Kalamazoo is opening up fire hydrants to help people keep cool.

Residents can call the Kzoo Public Services Department at 269-337-8418 to request that a hydrant be turned on.

The city says the following hydrants will be open starting at 1p.m. until sunset:

  • Interfaith, Building 1038, NW corner
  • Burrell Ave. and Lawrence St.
  • Krom St. and Clay St.
  • Washington Ave. and March St.
  • Charlotte and Sherwood
  • Clarence St. and Jackson St.
  • Norway Ave. and Princeton Ave.
  • Fairbanks Ave. and Center St.
  • Church St. and Norway Ave.
  • Elizabeth St. between Cobb
