Nearly three years after he went on a shooting spree around Kalamazoo, killing six people and injuring two others, Jason Dalton's trial will be begin this week.

Dalton faces six counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder stemming from the February 20, 2016 shooting spree.

WZZM-13 reports that jury selection for the trial will begin on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Opening statements are expected to take place on Monday, January 7.

The trial will likely last about two weeks.

During the shooting, Mary Jo Nye, Barbara Hawthorne, Judy Brown, Mary Lou Nye, Richard Smith, and Tyler Smith were killed and Abigail Kopf and Tiana Carruthers were injured.
