Two Longtime Grand Rapids Family Businesses Joining Forces on New Coffee Bar
Looking for a new spot to grab coffee and a gourmet treat? A new coffee bar is opening up on the East Beltline in Grand Rapids.
Two GR family businesses are joining forces on the project.
Koeze Co.’s specialty nut and chocolate shop at 1971 East Beltline in Grand Rapids is adding a full-service coffee bar from Schuil Coffee Co.
According to MiBiz, the two companies decided to partner after a meeting, fittingly, over a cup of coffee at Schuil Coffee's café and roastery at 3679 29th St.
Both businesses have been around in Grand Rapids a loooong time, with Schuil Coffee founded in 1930, and Koeze Co. in 1910!
Vice President of Marketing at Koeze, Don Cumming, tells MiBiz,
By focusing on Grand Rapids and partnering with another Grand Rapids-based company, there is a lot of synergy for us and we’ll build a better specialty food space in the building.
Construction was recently completed on the new coffee bar at Koeze Co. on the East Beltline.
The grand opening date is set for September 28th, 2022.
The general public is invited. The ribbon cutting starts at 7:30am with free samples, door prizes, and 50 percent off drinks happening all day.
The first 50 guests at will get a free 5 oz. gift box of Koeze's Chocolate Caramel Pecan Turtles.
Drinks will include drip coffee, tea, espresso, seasonal lattes, and more.
