Ludacris Hosts New YouTube Competition Series ‘Best.Cover.Ever’
Artists such as Justin Bieber, Tori Kelly, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara and Charlie Puth all got their start by singing cover songs on YouTube, and now, the video-sharing website and Ludacris want to discover the next big star.
On Nov. 20, YouTube will launch its newest show, Best.Cover.Ever. Hosted by Luda, the series aims to discover emerging talent from around the world and will get some help from Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Flo Rida, Jason Derulo, Bebe Rexha and more.
Executive produced by Ryan Seacrest, the YouTube Original music competition will premiere exclusively on the Best.Cover.Ever. YouTube channel. "Music has had such a massive impact on who I am today, so I am pumped that through hosting and executive producing our new YouTube Original Best.Cover.Ever., we can give emerging talent a once in a lifetime opportunity and help bring their dreams to life," said Ludacris.
He added, "Along with fellow executive producer Ryan Seacrest, and some of the best in the business, like Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Keith Urban, Nicky Jam and more, we're working to discover the next big artist from around the world."
Aside from hosting Best.Cover.Ever., Ludacris is also the host of MTV's Fear Factor revival. The reboot's first season ran from May through August, but the show has been renewed for a second season.
While Luda continues to star in films and TV shows, the rapper hasn't given up on music yet. Earlier this month, the Atlanta artist released his latest song, "Vices." It's uncertain if the track will be featured on his upcoming album.
