MDOT: EB I-96 Closed At Leonard St. Starting Monday, June 10th

MDOT sent out the dreaded press release last week about the upcoming complete closure of eastbound I-96 starting at Leonard St.

Yes, we knew it was coming, but this is going to add more time and traffic to a lot of commutes. Starting Monday, June 10^th, MDOT will close I-96 eastbound from Leonard to the Beltline until construction of the I-96/196 flip is complete.

Starting Monday, you'll take 131 South to I-196 East and then connect with I-96 at the Beltline.

The off-ramp from eastbound I-96 to Leonard will remain open as well as the on-ramp from Beltline (M-44) to eastbound I-96.  Southbound Beltline to westbound 96 will still be closed until October.
