How Do You Find The Most Dangerous Colleges?

Degree Choices analyzed data from the United States Department of Education to compile a list of the 45 most dangerous colleges across the country after examining 10,499 college campuses.

To make this list, Degree Choices used the FBI's definition of a violent crime.

"A violent crime involves the use of force or threat of force against a person: rape, murder/manslaughter, aggravated assault, and robbery."

Coming within the top 10, at number 6 is the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Degree Choices also shared that 78 violent crimes were reported in 2022, which is how they scaled the most dangerous colleges.

The other Michigan college that is featured on Degree Choices' list is Eastern Michigan University. With 38 violent crimes reported in 2022, that is what Eastern Michigan University is sitting at number 24.
