Michigan's Expensive Zip Code

Realty Pop ranked the most expensive zip code in each state. You might be surprised to know which areas were listed.

  • 49434 (Macatawa): $1,619,000
  • 49654 (Leland): $1,290,000
  • 49116 (Lakeside): $1,250,000

According to the state's website, Macatawa is the city to go to when you want to get away and relax.

"The resort community of Macatawa makes it easy to relax. The Boathouse is set on a spacious, well-groomed lot overlooking the active Lake Macatawa Harbor, with the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan a Lazy walk away. The surrounding neighborhood is comprised of many turn of the century homes with bike paths, and Big Red lighthouse within easy walking distance."

If you are like me, this may be a little bit unexpected. I would have thought that the state's east side would have been the most expensive zip code.

Realty Hop shared the reason why Macatawa is considered the most expensive zip code in Michigan.

If you want lakefront or waterfront views, the prices go up!

"Michigan’s priciest zip code is 49434 in Allegan County. Home buyers can expect to spend $1,619,000 on a home in this area. The area has high buyer demand for its waterfront property along Lake Michigan.'

After a quick search on Realtor.com, Realty Hop was accurate in what to expect houses to go on sale.

There is a home for sale in Macatawa that would cost you $1,050,000 and that is after a $50K drop.

But hey, Macatawa is a great location right on Lake Michigan, if you can afford it!
