Looks like we need to buy some more flags, fireworks, and Statue of Liberty sunglasses for the 4th because a new survey has determined that we are one of the least patriotic states in the Union!

Michigan ranks a lowly 42nd in patriotism according to a brand new survey by WalletHub.com.  Normally, we would argue with results like these, but they actually have some sad facts about Michigan and our level of involvement with patriotic things like the military, voting, and volunteering.

Michigan ranks 35th in Civic Engagement and 44th in Military Engagement.  So, what does that mean?  That means that we don't have a lot of people volunteering or voting and it also means that we have very few veterans and active duty military personnel compared to other states.
